The School of Excellence Award is the highest level of achievement in the Thrive Ambassador Schools Programme. It is awarded to schools that have achieved Ambassador School status in all five areas and serves as a benchmark of all-round excellence for schools that have truly embedded the Thrive Approach.

This recognition celebrates the care, creativity, and thought that go into making our school a calm, welcoming, and nurturing place where every young person can feel safe, regulated, and ready to learn. From our sensory garden, forest area, memorial space, and above-ground pond to our relaxing indoor environments filled with soft lighting, calming music, and comfortable beanbags, every space at Mayfield is designed to help pupils Thrive.
We’re especially proud of our dedicated staff team, who work tirelessly to support each child’s individual needs. Through low-arousal classrooms, Zones of Regulation boards, and augmented communication tools, pupils are empowered to express how they feel and make choices about where they feel most comfortable.
