Pupils were treated to a truly spectacular in-school pantomime performance of Red Riding Hood, which brought a fantastic burst of laughter and traditional pantomime magic right into the heart of the school. The hall was completely transformed into the whimsical setting of the Magic Wood, providing the perfect backdrop as the children eagerly followed Red Riding Hood and her delightful friends on their adventure.
The show, delivered by the brilliant Chaplins Pantos, was a vibrant spectacle, full of lively songs, colourful characters, and plenty of opportunities for audience participation. Pupils were captivated by the comic antics of the principal boy, Posh Bert, and the wonderfully outlandish Dame, Mrs Hood. They delighted in the silly jokes, outrageous and funny costumes, and the surprising twists and turns woven into the classic story. There were several chances for the pupils to join in the fun, and they seized every one, enthusiastically calling out to warn Red Riding Hood, responding brilliantly to the cast’s questions, and, of course, absolutely nailing the classic call of “It’s behind you!” at just the right dramatic moments.
We were incredibly proud of how engaged and responsive the children were throughout the entire performance. They embraced the spirit of the occasion, singing along, clapping rhythmically, and dancing in their seats, showing a real sense of confidence and collective enjoyment. For many of our pupils, this was a special and invaluable opportunity to experience the magic of live, professional theatre in the comfortable, familiar, and supportive environment of the school hall.
