Last week, pupils across Mayfield enjoyed a wonderful Bonfire Day celebration, taking part in a range of exciting, creative and sensory activities linked to the theme.
Out in the woodland area, pupils gathered to toast marshmallows over the fire, experiencing the sights, sounds and smells of a real bonfire in a safe and supported way. Back in class, some pupils made their own edible and sensory sparklers, explored themed crafts and joined in with classroom-based activities designed to bring the traditions of Bonfire Night to life.
The day offered fantastic opportunities for pupils to develop their communication, fine motor and social skills whilst enjoying hands-on learning in a fun, inclusive setting.
