📚🐻 World Book Day in Rainbow Class! 🐻📚

Rainbow Class had a wonderful time celebrating World Book Day with one of our favourite stories, We’re Going on a Bear Hunt. To bring the book to life, Laura created an exciting sensory walk-through so the children could experience each part of the journey just like the characters!

The children explored:
• Soft, tickly felt for the long wavy grass
• Cool water trays for the splishy-splashy river
• Real mud and sticks for our squelchy, squerchy forest
• A swirling snowstorm using lots of different materials
• And finally… a dark, cosy cave to crawl through!

Activities like these give the children rich sensory experiences that help build language, imagination, and confidence. They could feel different textures, hear new sounds, and use their whole bodies to retell the story. This helps deepen their understanding of the book in a really hands-on, memorable way.
