Yesterday, we were delighted to welcome two new School Council members from EYFS, Barnaby and Harper-Mae β we are so pleased to have you both joining the team! π
The children met with Danielle from Orange Class to talk about the Food for Life Award, sharing ideas and beginning important discussions around food and wellbeing in our school.
Over this half term, the School Council will be focusing on a small number of key tasks. They will also be visiting their classes to share updates and gather ideas, ensuring that pupil voice remains at the heart of everything we do.
Looking ahead, we are excited to begin setting up a School Nutrition Action Group. School Council members will be inviting pupils, staff and members of the catering team to get involved.
Our aim is to build a shared understanding across the school of what we are working towards β and how everyone can contribute in ways that suit their role.
Some of the areas we will begin exploring include:
β’ Whether we currently have a school lunch policy
β’ Ways to increase school meal uptake
β’ How we can create a calm, positive and supportive dining experience for our pupils
We look forward to keeping you updated on our progress!
