Mayfield School Celebrates VE Day with a Colourful Flag Parade!

Last Thursday, we marked the 80th anniversary of VE Day with a truly special celebration here at Mayfield.

Students contributed to a wonderful art project, creating a beautiful Mayfield masterpiece. Children brought in various materials to help design a giant British flag, showcasing their creativity and teamwork. The end result was a stunning display of talent and patriotism, reflecting the unity and pride of our school community. In the afternoon, we had a flag parade, where children and staff waved their hand-crafted flags with pride as they walked around the cycle track. It was a fantastic sight to see everyone coming together to honour this historic occasion.

As part of the challenge, classes worked hard to complete 80 laps, one lap for each year since VE Day!

Thank you to everyone who took part in making this VE Day celebration so memorable. We are so proud of the effort, creativity, and enthusiasm shown by all.
