Children’s Mental Health Week 2026 🧸💛

This year for Children’s Mental Health Week 2026, Mayfield special school proudly took part in a meaningful whole-school activity to celebrate and promote positive mental health and wellbeing.

Each class chose a special mascot teddy bear to represent their commitment to children’s mental health awareness. The children worked together to stuff their bears with soft filling, along with hearts and thoughtful messages about kindness, friendship, resilience, and support.

Every child took turns to carefully add stuffing and place their heart inside. We ensured that everyone was involved in a way that suited their individual needs, making the experience inclusive, supportive, and accessible for all.

These teddy bears now serve as a lasting reminder that every child’s feelings matter. They symbolise that we all have emotions inside us, and that sharing kind words, showing empathy, and supporting one another helps keep our hearts full.

We are incredibly proud of how engaged and thoughtful our pupils were throughout this special activity.
