A Special Remembrance Day Tribute at Mayfield

Last week, pupils marked Remembrance Day through a range of thoughtful and creative activities.

In class, pupils enjoyed making their own poppies using donated plastic bottles, carefully decorating them before attaching them to wooden crosses. Each class then took it in turn to bring their poppy display to the front of school, creating a striking and meaningful remembrance area for our whole school community.

Classes also got creative with poppy-themed artwork and decorating poppy biscuits, helping pupils to explore the significance of Remembrance in an accessible and engaging way.

On Remembrance Day, we came together as a school at 11:11am to observe a two-minute silence. This provided a quiet and respectful moment for pupils and staff to reflect and remember together.
