πŸ›πŸŒΏ Creatures Great and Small in Red Class 🌿🐞

Red Class have been thoroughly enjoying their learning around our topic Creatures Great and Small. The children have been developing their curiosity and understanding of the natural world through a range of exciting, hands-on experiences.

We have been exploring insects in our woodland area, giving the children opportunities to closely observe the creatures they found and talk about what they noticed. These outdoor experiences have encouraged curiosity, respect for living things and lots of rich language as the children shared their discoveries.

The children also loved listening to The Very Hungry Caterpillar. To bring the story to life, we used real food to retell the events, helping to deepen understanding and engage the children’s senses. This interactive approach supported attention, communication and early storytelling skills.

A particular highlight has been caring for and observing our own live caterpillars. The children have been fascinated watching them grow and change each day. This has supported sequencing, vocabulary development and an understanding of change over time.

What a wonderful way to learn about the world around us! πŸ¦‹βœ¨
