Our Transition Programme
We recognise that transition periods can present a challenge for our students and families, especially in relation to those big decisions about what to do or where to go next. Rest assured we make it our priority to keep you informed about all your options at each stage of your child's journey with us. We have key staff who are assigned the role of working with you and your child to talk about options and support transitions both within school and beyond.
Anyone who wants to know about what is out there for our students should ring school to discuss options - Ask to speak to Julie Hurst in the first instance.
In addition with the introduction of the new Education Health and Care plans school are very keen to encourage more families to become involved in supporting their child plan for their future beyond school or college. At Mayfield we are all very keen to make sure that what we do in school reflects the desirable outcomes for our young people and their families.
We have excellent links with the young peoples and transition service and work alongside them via regular meetings and reviews to keep us up to date.
