MOVE DAY 2022

We have been celebrating our MOVE achievements in Mayfield School.

Our pupils have worked super hard this year on reaching and achieving their MOVE goals.  The goals have all been related to sitting, standing and walking.  On Thursday our pupils were able to show off their new skills and celebrate achievements together.

This morning we had a carousel of activities on the Astroturf for all the children to join in with. The theme was “Super heroes - saving the planet”.

Our activities were:

      Standing in standing slings to splash in the water

      Sitting on a bench for water play and spraying the bad guys with water guns (Bad guys being the teachers)

      Planting seeds while standing at the tough trays

      Fishing in the water – Saving the fish from the dirty water and putting them into the clean water

      Sitting to sieve the bugs from the sand

      Going up and down the steps to get into the tent to search for trapped bugs.

We all had so much fun!!

This afternoon we had a big achievement assembly where the whole school came together to cheer and celebrate the successes of our MOVE pupils.  We presented ten MOVE certificates to pupils who have succeeded in reaching their goals this academic year.

We had two very special awards to give out at the end of assembly.  Two of our pupils have graduated their MOVE programmes!!  Both pupils had a special prize and walked to the front to the graduation music while wearing graduation hats and robes.

We are so proud of everything both pupils have achieved during their time on the MOVE programme.  Well done to you both!  We can’t wait to see where your new physical skills take you!
