Attendance

Attendance 2021- 2022

Following Full Time Return to School it is vital parents support their child to fully attend school.

Our Autumn Term attendance rate taking in to account COVID absences was 89%  Given the vulnerable nature of our students this compares well with the national average of 89.7%

We are actively seeking to work with families to improve this across Spring and Summer.

We have previously had a great attendance record in school, and for the last three years it is above that of similar schools to ours. However as you will be used to hearing - we can always do better!

We aim to achieve above a 90% attendance rate for each child across the school year.  Below this is classed as persistent absence and requires us to respond to prevent further education being missed.  Of course we know some pupils can be quite poorly and we work with families to support them manage this.  What we are asking is that you make a special effort to send your child in when they are fit and well.

Sam in the office is now taking over attendance tracking and phone calls and will work closely with Jackie to support families where attendacne is becoming an issue. This may include liaising with transport , agreeing to amended start times for a period of time or support to help you when your child is reluctant to attend.

If you are concerned about your child's attendance or need advice on getting them ready for school contact Jackie Johnson for some top tips and suggestions!
